Gallery face
The midface, the region across the cheeks and beneath the eyes, is often where the early signs of ageing first become visible, and this mid-face lift gallery shows how surgery can restore volume and lift to this central area. All results were performed by Mr Paul Wilson at Northwood Hospital in Bristol and are shared with patient consent.
As the face ages, the cheek pads that once sat high and full begin to descend. This flattening of the cheeks can deepen the folds that run from the nose to the mouth, hollow the area beneath the eyes, and create a tired, drawn appearance in the centre of the face. A mid-face lift addresses this by repositioning the descended cheek tissue back to a higher, more youthful position. In the before and after photographs here, look at how the cheeks are re-elevated, how the under-eye region is softened, and how the overall midface regains a fuller, more rested look.
The concerns that draw patients to this procedure are specific to the central face. Some feel their cheeks have lost their former fullness; others are troubled by hollowing or shadowing beneath the eyes, or by folds that have deepened over time. Because these changes are concentrated in the midface, a targeted lift can produce a natural rejuvenation without the need to address the entire face. Mr Wilson assesses the position of the cheek tissue, the under-eye area and the overall facial proportions to determine whether a mid-face lift is the most appropriate approach for your individual concerns.
A mid-face lift focuses on restoring position and volume where they have been lost, which is why the results tend to look refreshed rather than tightened. Rejuvenating the centre of the face can have a wider effect on how youthful the whole face appears, since so much of a rested, healthy look depends on the cheeks and under-eye region. Several images in this gallery show patients at different stages of recovery, as swelling settles and the final result develops over the following weeks and months.
Because the midface can be treated in different ways, and because it often overlaps with concerns better suited to other procedures, Mr Wilson discusses the options candidly during consultation. In some cases a mid-face lift is ideal on its own; in others it may be considered alongside or instead of alternative techniques, depending on the pattern of ageing. Honest, individualised advice is central to his approach.
All surgery carries risk, and outcomes vary with skin quality, anatomy and healing. These photographs illustrate the natural, volume-restoring results Mr Wilson works towards rather than a guaranteed outcome for every patient.
If flattened cheeks, under-eye hollowing or a tired midface are concerns for you, this gallery is a helpful starting point. To find out whether a mid-face lift suits your anatomy and goals, contact Paul Wilson Aesthetics to arrange a personal consultation with Mr Paul Wilson at Northwood Hospital, Bristol.
Essentially and without doubt Mr Wilson did what he said he was going to do.
I have no regrets whatsoever.
I just wanted to say thank you to Paul Wilson and his whole team for the amazing work he did with my breast augmentation and dermal fillers!
I can’t be happier.
Would without a doubt recommend Paul Wilson.
He is totally honest, doesn’t overpromise and is realistic of what outcome you can expect.
Aftercare was brilliant too.
Paul is a genuine, friendly and caring person.
I felt in very good hands.
He explained everything fully and was there every step of the way, including after the procedure.
I had been to see a handful of surgeons but none really made me feel as positive about the results as Paul, he made me feel at ease.
A I am so happy with the results! So glad I went ahead.
The outcome of the surgery is absolutely life changing and I can actually look in the mirror now at my stomach.
Would without a doubt recommend Paul Wilson.
Just a quick note to say thank you to both you and Paul for everything.
Dealing with you has been a pleasure and Paul has been wonderful.
Just a quick note to say thank you to both you and Paul for everything.
I’ve felt completely at ease throughout the whole process and couldn’t be happier with the results.

It was a pleasure to catch up with my lovely patient this week, 16 months after her deep plane facelift and neck lift with me.
This reel follows her journey from before surgery to six weeks post-op, and then to her recent review.
Early results are only part of the story. At six weeks, healing is still underway. As swelling settles and the tissues heal, the result can continue to soften and refine.
We are both delighted with how her result has settled.
Every patient’s recovery is different. These photographs show one patient’s experience;
Healing takes time, and patience is an important part of the process. Results evolve over months as swelling settles and tissues soften. Giving yourself that time allows you to appreciate how your result settles, beyond the early stages of recovery.

OPEN RHINOPLASTY
Before and immediately after an open rhinoplasty I performed at Northwood Hospital, Bristol .
Our aim was to reduce the height of the nasal bridge and address a slight deviation, improving the symmetry of the patient’s nose while maintaining breathing function.
The after photograph was taken immediately following surgery in theatre. Swelling is present at this stage, and the result will continue to develop as healing progresses.
Both the patient and I are pleased with how healing is progressing and the results so far.✨
Individual results vary.

“What if I regret it?” is a completely understandable question when considering permanent surgery.
Careful planning is an important part of hairline lowering surgery. The position and shape of the new hairline need to suit the patient’s facial proportions, existing hairline and hair density.
Our lovely patient is shown before surgery and 12 months afterwards. The aim was to create a softer, lower hairline that still looked natural and individual to her.

An abdominoplasty is about more than removing excess skin.
Where rectus diastasis is present, the abdominal wall can be tightened by bringing the separated tissues back towards the midline. This creates a firmer internal foundation and can help improve the shape and support of the abdomen.
The procedure may also include removing excess skin and fat, reshaping the abdominal contour and repositioning the belly button where appropriate.
Every abdominoplasty is planned around the patient’s individual anatomy, concerns and goals. Not every patient will require the same elements of surgery.

“Can surgery make me look like my filter?”
It’s a question that comes up more often than you might think.
Bringing a filtered or AI edited image to a consultation can be helpful because it shows me what you are drawn to. The difficulty is that these images often change several things at once, including the eyes, nose, brows, jawline and skin. They do not take account of real anatomy or how the face moves.
Surgery works with living tissue, so a filtered image cannot be treated as an exact blueprint. It can, however, be a useful starting point for an honest conversation about what you would like to change and what may be achieved safely and naturally.
The aim should be a result that still looks like you.

A patient journey following VASER liposuction to the neck.
These photographs show the progression from careful pre-operative planning and marking, through the early post-operative stage, to three weeks after surgery.
VASER liposuction uses ultrasound-assisted technology to target and remove localised areas of fat with precision. This can make it a suitable option for carefully selected patients seeking greater definition beneath the chin and along the neck and jawline.
At three weeks, healing is still at an early stage and some swelling may remain. The result will continue to settle and refine over the coming weeks and months. Our patient is already very pleased with her progress and the outcome so far.
Thank you to our lovely patient for kindly allowing us to share her journey.
