Rhinoplasty – the cosmetic surgeon’s term for a ‘nose job’

rhinoplastythe cosmetic surgeon’s term for a ‘nose job'”

The word rhinoplasty always seems to be associated with the word rhinoceros and, as a consequence, the word is one my patients struggle to come to terms with. A nose job, on the other hand, seems far more preferable, so while it isn’t my professional choice, I understand the need. I regularly perform rhinoplasty nose surgery for a great variety of patients, many of whom have very different reasons for requiring this form of plastic surgery. You should also note that it is becoming very popular with men nowadays, not just women. It is fair to say that a great number of rhinoplasty procedures I perform are a result of personal psychological discomfort. It is so sad that cruel remarks made during our childhood can scar us later on in life, and having a large nose or ears that stick out are prime targets for malicious barbs.

However, it should come as no surprise to learn that certain rhinoplasty nose operations I perform are done so due to personal injury. Once again, as humans, we are all very different, and while you may not know that one person has broken their nose three times without needing surgery, it is plainly obvious to others that at one time or another, they have broken their nose. Fortunately, nose surgery can provide the solution and restore confidence which also can take a knock when your nose does. Of course, there is then the question of being able to breathe freely. Once again, this can either become compromised as we grow older or as a result of injury, and rhinoplasty or nose surgery can prove an invaluable solution to the discomfort of not being able to breathe easily through your nose. If you have been considering having nose surgery, then please do contact us here and take full advantage of a full consultation with the practice SRN, Sarah Powell, who will be able to answer all your important questions.
