Treatment breast
Breast volume and shape can be influenced by genetics, weight changes, pregnancy or ageing, and some women may feel their breasts lack fullness, symmetry or projection. Breast augmentation surgery offers a tailored solution by enhancing the size and contour of the breasts while maintaining a natural look and feel.
At Paul Wilson Aesthetics, you’ll be cared for by a team known for their expertise and personalised approach. Mr. Paul Wilson takes the time to understand your goals and create a customised treatment plan that will deliver natural-looking results.
About
Breast augmentation is a cosmetic surgical procedure designed to enhance the size, shape and fullness of the breasts using implants. It is tailored to each patient to achieve natural-looking results that complement their body shape and personal aesthetic goals.
This procedure works by placing breast implants in a carefully selected position to improve fullness, projection and symmetry. At our clinic, the sub-fascial breast augmentation technique is commonly used, where the implant is positioned beneath the fascia and above the muscle. This approach offers excellent shape and support while helping to reduce muscle disruption, shorten recovery time and maintain natural movement of the breasts.
Breast augmentation can be performed as a standalone procedure or combined with other surgeries, such as a breast lift or body contouring, to enhance overall results. When used as part of a combined approach, it allows for improved shaping, better proportions and a more cohesive outcome.
Your procedure is fully personalised, allowing your surgeon to focus on your individual anatomy, preferences and desired outcome to achieve natural-looking results.
Types
Breast implants come in a range of shapes, sizes and levels of firmness, allowing your procedure to be tailored to your anatomy and aesthetic goals.
At Paul Wilson Aesthetics, we use silicone implants for breast augmentation as we believe they provide the most natural feel, the best long-term stability and a lower risk of visible rippling. Breast implants are typically available in two main shapes:
Anatomical implants are fuller at the bottom and narrower at the top, closely mirroring the natural shape of the breast. They create a softer, more natural-looking result and can offer subtle lifting for women with mild droop.
As they are made from firmer, highly cohesive silicone, anatomical implants maintain their upper pole fullness and overall shape more effectively over the long term.
Round implants provide fuller upper-pole projection, creating a more prominent, rounded appearance at the top of the breast. This can be desirable for patients seeking a more augmented look.
However, because they provide a more uniform shape, round implants often appear less natural than anatomical implants, particularly in patients with limited breast tissue.

What to expect
Every patient will undergo a comprehensive consultation with their surgeon to ensure they feel fully informed, comfortable and confident before proceeding with surgery. During your consultation, your surgeon will discuss your goals and guide you through all suitable implant options, including size, shape, profile and placement.
As part of your assessment, your anatomy, skin quality, existing breast tissue and overall health will be carefully evaluated to determine the most appropriate surgical approach. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions about the procedure.
As part of your consultation, 3D photographs will be taken using advanced VECTRA imaging. These images can be digitally morphed in real time to show how different implant shapes, sizes and profiles may look on your body. This allows you to visualise potential outcomes and make confident, informed decisions about your surgery.
Breast augmentation is performed under general anaesthesia and typically takes between one and two hours. This is dependent on the complexity of the case and whether additional procedures are being performed at the same time.
During the breast augmentation surgery, Mr Paul Wilson offers the sub-fascial, subglandular and dual plane techniques. With the dual plane technique, the implant is positioned partly beneath the chest muscle and halfway underneath the breast gland.
With the sub-fascial technique, implants are placed beneath the fascia and above the muscle, offering excellent support and natural movement while minimising muscle disruption. Of the three approaches, sub-fascial typically produces the most natural-looking results. Your surgeon will use the most suitable technique based on your anatomy and goals.
Incisions are usually placed in discreet locations, most commonly within the natural crease beneath the breast. This positioning helps minimise visible scarring and allows precise implant placement.
Once the implant pocket has been created, the chosen implants are inserted and positioned to achieve optimal symmetry, projection and shape.
The incisions are closed using fine sutures, and sterile dressings are applied. Drains are commonly placed to reduce the risk of fluid build-up in the early postoperative period. A supportive surgical bra will also be applied to help protect the implants and support early healing.
Your surgeon will provide advice on scar care once the incisions have healed. This may include silicone gel, moisturising products or gentle massage. Scar management will be reviewed during your follow-up appointments to ensure optimal long-term healing.
Recovery
Recovery varies from person to person and depends on individual healing, implant placement and whether additional procedures were performed. Most patients stay in the hospital overnight for monitoring before returning home the following day.
Swelling, bruising and mild discomfort are normal in the early stages and will gradually improve over the first one to two weeks. Pain typically settles quickly and is usually well managed with simple pain relief medication. The breasts may initially feel tight or firm as the tissues adjust.
Your surgeon will review you following your surgery to check how you’re feeling.
You will also be shown how to gently massage the central chest area to help reduce swelling and assist the implants in settling into their final position. This massage is recommended every two hours for the first four weeks.
You must continue to wear your supportive surgical or sports bra day and night for at least six weeks, removing it only briefly for showering. This helps reduce swelling, supports the implants and encourages optimal positioning as healing occurs.
Once home, light movement is encouraged to support circulation and recovery. Short walks and gentle shoulder movements can begin the first day after surgery. Light daily activities are encouraged, but heavy lifting, strenuous exercise and contact sports must be avoided for six weeks. Driving should be avoided for two weeks.
Gentle exercise, such as using an exercise bike, may resume at three to four weeks if approved by your surgeon. Most patients can return to sedentary work within a few days, depending on how they feel.
Breast augmentation leaves small scars under the breast crease, which gradually fade over time. Scars are often red and firm at first and may take up to 12 to 18 months to fully soften and mature.
Visible improvements can be seen early on, with results continuing to refine over several months as swelling settles and the implants gradually settle into their natural position.
You will receive detailed written aftercare instructions and attend scheduled follow-up appointments so your surgeon can closely monitor your healing and ensure optimal results. Ongoing guidance will be provided at each stage of your recovery.
Risks & complications
As with any surgical procedure, breast augmentation carries certain risks. While complications are uncommon, it is important to be aware of potential risks, which may include:
Your surgeon will discuss all potential risks during your consultation, ensuring you are fully informed before deciding to proceed.

Results

FAQ
Breast implants are made to last many years, but they are not intended to last forever. Many patients enjoy their results for 10 to 20 years or more. Replacement is usually only needed if there is a complication or a change in your personal preference over time.
Most modern silicone implants feel very natural. The final feel depends on the implant type, size, placement, and the amount of natural breast tissue you have. Smaller to medium-sized implants generally feel more like natural breast tissue, while very large implants may feel firmer.
You will usually need to wear a supportive surgical or sports bra day and night for at least six weeks. After this time, your surgeon will advise when it is safe to sleep without a bra based on your healing progress.
Most patients can resume driving after around two weeks, provided they are no longer taking strong pain medication and feel comfortable doing so.
Breast implants do not automatically cause sagging. While implants add some weight, they can also provide internal support. Natural ageing, skin elasticity, gravity and weight changes play a bigger role in breast sagging.
In most cases, breastfeeding after breast augmentation is safe and possible. Implants are typically placed beneath the breast tissue or beneath the muscle, so the milk glands and ducts are usually not affected.
B-Lite implants are the world’s first lightweight breast implants, designed to be up to 30% lighter than traditional silicone options by using a specialised gel infused with tiny, hollow microspheres. This reduction in weight minimises the long-term effects of gravity, helping to prevent breast sagging and reducing physical strain on the back and shoulders, making them an excellent choice for active women or those desiring larger volumes.
Breast augmentation has a high success rate with a low risk of complications. Most patients experience a significant boost in self-esteem and body confidence following surgery.

Breast Augmentation
A natural increase in volume — restoring shape after hypomastia
Hypomastia is the medical term for naturally underdeveloped breast tissue. It’s a recognised developmental variation, not a flaw — but for many women it affects how comfortable and confident they feel in their own body.
This patient, a mum of two with a completed family, had thought about augmentation for several years. Her request was simple and one I hear often: a natural, modest increase in volume and improved shape — not a dramatic change. On examination she had reduced upper-pole fullness in both breasts with good underlying symmetry.
Rather than reaching for a number, we planned this properly. Measurements, 2D and 3D imaging morphed to her chosen implant, external sizers tried on in clinic, and a home rice test to let her feel the volume for herself. Her choice: a 275cc round, moderate-profile Mentor micro-textured implant, placed subfascially through an inframammary incision — a plan designed to add soft upper-pole fullness in proportion to her petite frame.
You can see in the lateral and oblique views how the goal was balance, not bulk.
The psychological side matters just as much. In appropriately assessed patients, augmentation for hypomastia is consistently associated with improvements in body image, self-confidence and quality of life — and that outcome means as much to me as the surgical one.
Shared with this patient’s full consent.
Results vary from person to person. This is educational and not a recommendation to undergo surgery — any decision should follow a personal consultation.

Dorsal Preservation Rhinoplasty: What’s the Hype?
Traditional rhinoplasty shaves the hump off the top of your bridge, then rebuilds the roof. DPR lowers the bridge from underneath — keeping your natural dorsum fully intact. 👃
Why people love it 💕
✅ More natural front view (no widening!)
✅ Preserves your dorsal aesthetic lines
✅ Fewer grafts needed
✅ Quicker recovery & less bruising 🤍
✅ Smoother long-term results
The fine print 📝
⚠️ Hump recurrence is the #1 risk
⚠️ Best for straight noses with small/medium humps
⚠️ Technically harder — surgeon experience is everything
⚠️ Rare risks: saddle nose, radix step-off, asymmetry
The hype is real — if you’re a candidate. Always consult a surgeon fluent in BOTH techniques, not just the trendy one. 🤍

Precision in motion. 🦴✨
Meet Paul Wilson — one of the rare surgeons holding dual qualifications in both dentistry and plastic surgery. That unique combination is on full display here, as Paul interprets dental imaging in real time while placing mandibular angle and chin implants.
Facial implant surgery is as much about artistry as it is anatomy. Having a deep understanding of the underlying bony architecture — the kind of knowledge that comes from a background in dentistry — allows for implant placement that’s tailored, precise, and harmonious with each patient’s natural facial structure.
From reading the CBCT scan on screen to refining the jawline and chin projection in the OR, every detail is considered. This is what dual expertise looks like in practice. 💙

Gynaecomastia | Before & After
This procedure addresses excess fullness in the male chest caused by gland, fat, or a combination of both.
The aim is not simply to remove tissue, but to improve the overall chest shape for a balanced and natural appearance. As with any operation, success depends on choosing the right technique for the individual`s anatomy and careful surgical planning from the outset.
The initial result is just one stage of the process. Swelling gradually subsides, and the chest continues to refine as healing progresses.
Please take a moment to view the outcome.

A neck lift is designed to address laxity beneath the chin and along the jawline.
Some patients are less concerned with their face itself, and more with the way their neck has changed over time. Loss of definition, heavier tissue, or loose skin in this area can affect overall facial balance.
A neck lift focuses on restoring a more defined contour through careful surgical planning, with the aim of achieving a result that looks natural for the individual.
As with any procedure, suitability depends on anatomy, skin quality, and the changes being treated.
