Becoming a parent is one of life’s greatest pleasures – but the truth is that for many women pregnancy changes their body forever.
Saggy skin around the tummy is one of the most common complaints from the mums I see as patients – and, sometimes, there is no amount of dieting or hitting the gym that can make it go away.
Abdominoplasty – more commonly known as a tummy tuck – is a popular way for women to reclaim their pre-baby belly.
If you are considering a tummy tuck in Bristol, you might be interested to know that I have more than a decade of specialist experience as a cosmetic surgeon performing this procedure.
I understand that opting for surgery is a difficult and nerve-wracking decision. It is my job to put you at ease from your very first consultation and to offer professional and personalised care at every step of the way.
As a highly experienced surgeon, I am consistently amazed when I see the difference a successful tummy tuck makes to a woman who lost their toned or slim tummy after having children.
How does a tummy tuck work?
If you choose to have a tummy tuck in Bristol, I will use dedicated techniques to shape and sculpt your abdominal wall. I will remove any excess fat and skin and tighten the underlying muscles to leave you with a thinner, trimmer, flatter tummy that has a more toned appearance.
The procedure typically leaves a scar around 20cm long in the lower abdomen, which can be easily kept out of sight, and recovery can take from around two weeks to two months, depending on how extensive the surgery is.
Who is a tummy tuck suitable for?
A large number of the patients I see for a tummy tuck in Bristol are women aged 25-40, many of whom have seen their bodies change after having children. However, I am also well experienced at helping both men and women who need a tummy tuck after losing a significant amount of weight or having bariatric surgery.
