Qualifications & Training

Plastic Surgeon Mr Paul Wilson grew up in Yorkshire before completing degrees in both Medicine and Dental Surgery from the Universities of Leicester and Liverpool respectively.

He initially trained in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and was made a Fellow of the Faculty of Dental Surgeons at the Royal College of Surgeons. Paul went on to train in General Surgery, becoming a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2000. He then went on to specialise in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery completing his Higher Surgical Training in the Southwest Region.

Paul was appointed Consultant in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Frenchay Hospital, Bristol in 2010.

Within the NHS he is the lead surgeon for sarcoma surgery, in particular reconstruction following cancer. He is also a specialist head and neck surgeon with expertise in oculoplastic surgery and Facial palsy. Mr Wilson also specialises in body contouring surgery following massive weight loss.

Affiliations

Mr Wilson is a council member of the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS), a full member of the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS), a member of the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ISAPS) and a member of the Rhinoplasty Society of Europe. He is on the GMC’s specialist register for Plastic Surgery.

Private Surgery

In Paul's busy private practice, he performs a wide range of aesthetic operations. His specialist operations include rhinoplasty (nose job), facelift, hairline lowering procedures and breast surgery. Paul provides the full range of body contouring procedures following weight loss and pregnancy including abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), brachioplasty (arm lift), mastopexy (breast lift), thigh lift, buttock lift and bra-line back lift. The most common operation performed is breast augmentation.

Charity Work

Paul volunteers for a charity called Facing Africa in their quest to treat Noma, a devastating infection of which there are around 140,000 new cases every year. He travels to Addis Ababa in Ethiopia to treat children and adults with severe facial deformities, which he finds incredibly rewarding.

Other Interests

Paul and his wife live in Bristol with their staffy dog, Misty. Paul's interests include flying, watersports and cycling. The family also enjoy walking and mountain biking on Dartmoor, when operating out of Wood Medispa, Okehampton in Devon.
